Weekend Outing: Saturday August 13th
Last Saturday we had a wonderful outing to the La Jolla Playhouse, where the we enjoyed what one resident likes to refer to as “grown-up entertainment” in the form of the musical production Sleeping Beauty Wakes. It was a captivating and lively performance of the classic fairy tale with a modern-day twist: Sleeping Beauty’s father has taken her to a sleep disorder clinic! Weekend Outing, 8/7/11
On Saturday the residents went on an outing to Balboa Park. It was a beautiful day in San Diego and the weather was perfect for exploring. First we went to the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center and saw an afternoon showing of the IMAX movie “Hubble” about the Hubble space telescope. The movie was awesome and a couple of them said they would like to go back to see one of the other movies there.After the movie we walked around Balboa Park... (more...)
Sunday July 17, Concert in the Park
Sunday was an awesome day full of relaxation and entertainment! We had an awesome lunch of sandwiches of fresh fruit prepared by one of our RA’s. After everyone finished eating lunch and sharing stories of the weekend, we started to prepare for our outing to the park. Food was picked up from the local fresh market so we packed it up in our picnic basket and grabbed our blankets and headed out to Standley Park for an amazing blues concert!... (more...)
Saturday, July 16 weekend activity
Saturday was a day for relaxation and recreation. The morning started off with a yoga session from 10:30 to 11:30. Once everyone’s Chi was centered we spent lunch outside enjoying the perfect weather that La Jolla has to offer. After finishing lunch, we took an adventure out to the local mall. Between shoe shopping and cosmetic supplies, time flew by as we frolicked through UTC avoiding the men and women who hassle you from their kiosks.... (more...)
The first half week at Reunion San Diego
We opened on Wed July 6th. We admitted two residents that day, and one the next. Yoga sessions began Thursday with yoga instructor Chris O’Connor, and fitness sessions began Friday with fitness instructor Cody Bishop. Friday night after dinner we watched About A Boy, a movie starring Hugh Grant. His character would prefer to live without close relationships, but he gets pulled into several by a precocious 12 year old boy.... (more...)
